Personal profile

Born in Bremen, Germany, half English, half German, I spent my childhood there and in the USA. I moved to England in 1987 and studied fashion design at Oxford Brookes. I worked at Whistles in Oxford and was an assistant buyer at Browns in South Molton St.

I then went on to do showroom work for designers like Nicole Farhi, Paul Costelloe, French Connection, Amanda Wakeley etc. During this time I learned a lot about fit, style, and design. Now a mother of two teenage girls, I know how it feels to lose oneself to family duties and work, and yet still wish to continue to look and feel good.

I set up catherinehayward.co.uk back in 2008 and since then have worked with hundreds of clients, many of whom are repeat customers but there is only one constant and that is every single person is treated individually.  I’m as passionate about clothes now as I was then; what suits one person will not suit the next – colours, shapes, styles, textures – I promise you there’s something out there for you which will put a spring in your step and turn heads!
